January 1998 - A new phone line has been installed in the sheriff’s office for the paging system. This new equipment will allow firefighters to be paged via 911 calls. James Lunceford will be missed by this department. Our thanks go to him for his dedication and devotion to this fire department.

March 1998 - Report given about photo fund-raiser event. Kyle Harris came as firefighter. Steve Baskin is new fire chief, Joe Allison is assistant fire chief, and Scott Walker is lieutenant Station 1

May 1998 - Greg Beverly came as a Jr. firefighter, (The first Jr. firefighter allowed to wear a pager & respond from Martins Mill School)

June 1998 - Rod Bass received donation for department of two used trucks donated by Penny Gas Co in Kaufman to be used for parts.
|
July 1998 - Neal Weaver voted in as Lt. Station 2 and Heath Morris is new Assistant Chief.
